Synopsis


New World  is a 2013 South Korean noir film written and directed by Park Hoon-jung.Undercover police officer Ja-sung (Lee Jung-jae) infiltrates Goldmoon, the biggest crime syndicate in Korea, to investigate them under the command of his handler Chief Kang (Choi Min-sik). After eight years, Ja-sung becomes the right-hand man to the ring's second-in-command Jung Chung (Hwang Jung-min), who holds the real power. But when its leader is killed in a mysterious car accident, Goldmoon is thrown into a succession struggle that threatens to tear it apart. With a baby on the way, Ja-sung is desperate to retire, however Kang keeps him on as rival factions quickly develop around two prospective leaders, the gang's number 2, Jung Chung and number 3, Lee Joong-goo (Park Sung-woong). Top-level police officials initiate "Operation New World" to intervene in Goldmoon's selection process for the next leader, and to use the leader's death to their advantage in controlling the crime organization. Caught between Jung Chung who trusts him with his life, and Kang who thinks of him only as bait, Ja-sung is cornered by both bosses on opposite sides and must make a final decision that rests on loyalty and betrayal.

Synopsis

Accident is a 2009 Hong Kong action thrillerdirected by Soi Cheang, produced by Johnnie To and starring Louis Koo, and Richie Jen.A self-styled “accident choreographer,” the Brain (Louis Koo) is a professional hitman who kills his victims by trapping them in well crafted “accidents” that look like unfortunate mishaps but are in fact perfectly staged acts of crime. Perennially plagued with guilt, he is also suspicious and morbid by nature. The recent avalanche of memories of his lost wife does not make things any easier.

After one mission accidentally goes wrong, causing the life of one of his men, the Brain is convinced that this accident has been choreographed: someone is out there plotting to terminate him and his team. He becomes increasingly paranoid, walking on the thin line between reality and delusion.

When he is accosted by a mysterious insurance agent Fong (Richie Ren) who happened to be on the scene of the “accident” as well, the Brain becomes obsessed that this man must be the mastermind behind a conspiracy to take him out. To regain his sanity and to safe his life, he must strive to kill Fong before he makes his next move.

Synopsis

Synopsis

Route Irish is a 2010 drama-thriller film directed by Ken Loach and written by Paul Laverty.The film opens on a ferry in Liverpool, as Fergus Molloy (Mark Womack) remembers the final messages sent to him by his lifelong friend Frankie (John Bishop), whose funeral he is to attend. The night before, Molloy unseals his friend's coffin as it lies wake to see his friend's badly injured corpse. At the funeral, Haynes (Jack Fortune) a director of the private military company Molloy and Frankie worked for, gives a eulogy praising Frankie and describing military contractors as the "unsung heroes of our time". Afterwards, Haynes and Walker (Geoff Bell) explain to Frankie's family the circumstances of his death, though Molloy remains embittered and closely questions the two men. Later at the wake, Molloy attacks Haynes when he sees him distributing his business card to enlisted soldiers there.

Marisol, (Najwa Nimri) bequeaths a package to Molloy, which Frankie had entrusted to a mutual friend with a note asking it be given to Molloy. With the help of Harim (Talib Rasool), an Iraqi musician, Molloy discovers a video on the phone which shows a member Frankie's team killing an innocent Iraqi family a few weeks before his death. Molloy becomes suspicious, and has friends still working for the firm in Iraq investigate the incident, but it has not been recorded.

Synopsis

Drug War (Du zhan 毒戰) is a Chinese-Hong Kong film directed and produced by Johnnie To. The film stars Sun Honglei as police captain Zhang who partners with a drug lord named Timmy Choi (Louis Koo) after he is arrested.
