Synopsis

Gabi  is a 2012 South Korean film that follows an ostensible assassination plot of King Gojong , using coffee brewed by royal barista Tanya. The plan is masterminded by Sadako, a Joseon woman with adopted Japanese nationality, and aided by Ilyich, Tanya’s lover.
Inspired by the conspiracy theories about Gojong and the king’s well-known love of coffee, the movie’s title Gabi is a turn-of-the-century Chinese-character transliteration of "coffee". The film is based on author Kim Tak-hwan's historical fiction novel Noseoa Gabi .After his wife Empress Myeongseong is assassinated by the Japanese army and under threat of coup d'etat, Gojong the 26th king of Korea’s Joseon Dynasty briefly seeks refuge at the Russian consulate in 1896. While he is there, he tastes and falls in love with a bitter sweet drink that had yet to gain popularity in his homeland: coffee.
Upon returning to the throne, King Gojong hires the beautiful and cosmopolitan Tanya  as his personal barista. Tanya becomes involved in a dangerous social circle that involves not only the Russian sniper Ilyich  but also the mysterious socialite known as both Bae Jeong-ja and Sadako . With the Russian army hot on their trail, Tanya and her lover Ilych eventually become ensnared in a plot to assassinate King Gojong that is orchestrated by Sadako, a Korean-Japanese collaborator. Ilych becomes a spy to protect Tanya, who has begun to fall for Gojong while she makes his coffee every day.
With her intimate connection to the King, making a drink that could easily conceal poison, Tanya must decide if she will become a pawn in the political battlefield of late 19th century Korea

Synopsis



Firestorm is a 2013 Hong Kong action film written and directed by Alan Yuen, produced by and starring Andy Lau.

A storm is heading to the city of Hong Kong, and with it comes another occurrence so destructive, it vows to bring down everything it touches.

A crew of seasoned criminals led by the notorious Cao Nam (Hu Jun), armed with high-powered weapons, pulls off another smooth and violent armored car heist in broad daylight in a crowded street. Whoever tries to get in their way, they will show no mercy. This puts the police force to shame and humiliation.

A hardboiled senior police inspector Lui Ming-chit (Andy Lau), hot on the trails of Nam and his tight crew, determines to put an end to this madness that causes the lives of innocent people. But he soon comes face with the cruel reality that the usual police tactics are too futile to send these armed thieves behind bars. Extreme crime requires extreme justice, even if it means crossing his moral line. To Shing-bong (Gordon Lam), an ex-con desperate to leave his criminal past behind, volunteers to be Lui’s informant in exchange for a fresh start with his girlfriend Yin Bing (Yao Chen). But little does he know what hellish situation he is getting himself into.

While Nam is putting together his next big score, the two colliding forces from both sides of the law, each at the top of their games, will soon face their archenemies. As Lui’s hunt heats up, their ultimate confrontation is about to take place on the streets.

As the storm passes through and the dust settles, whoever survives can hardly cope with its horrifying aftermath.

Synopsis
A Hard Day (Hangul: 끝까지 간다; RR: Kkeutkkaji Ganda; lit. "Take It to the End") is a 2014 South Korean crime action thriller film directed by Kim Seong-hun, and starring Lee Sun-kyun and Cho Jin-woong. It was selected to compete in the Directors' Fortnight section of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Homicide detective Go Geon-soo is having a hard day, and the following events happen to him in less than 24 hours: He receives a divorce notice from his wife. His mother passes away. He and his coworkers are investigated by police inspectors over alleged embezzlement. Then on his way to his mother's funeral, he drives recklessly and commits a fatal hit and run. He tries to cover-up the accident by hiding the man's corpse in his deceased mother's coffin. But someone has been watching all along, and Geon-soo gets a mysterious call from a person claiming that he was the sole witness to the crime, who now begins to blackmail him.
